There’s a new store on the main floor of my building. They never seem to be open, regular hours anyway. I asked around and everyone had the same response: “Yeah - me neither.”

Then one day last week I saw this sign hanging in the window. It explained everything.

HOURS OF OPERATION

Open most days about 9 or 10. Occasionally as early as 7, but some as late as 12 or 1.

We close about 5:30 or 6. Occasionally 3 or 4, but sometimes as late as 11 or 12.

Some days or afternoons we are not here at all, but lately we have been here just about all the time, except when I am someplace (sic) else, but we should be here then to (sic).

Right.
